Comments on LCD vs CRT dual monitor computer displaysImpressive flat panel LCD monitors are now available from most monitor manufacturers. Barco Display Systems had what appears to be the most sophisticated flat panel LCD display so far.
Barco is internationally known for its monitors for graphic design studios and prepress. However Barco's high price left opportunities for LaCie Electron22blue III monitors with hood to take over on price alone. I also like flat panel LCD monitors because they have no flicker. If you sit at a monitor all day you may wish to avoid CRT. What would be ideal would be dual 19", or even the impressive Sony PremierPro 23" flat panel LCD monitors. Samsung is going after the power users with a 24" HD LCD. In Japan space is at such a premium that most office works are only allowed a laptop computer in their mini-office. In Germany our space is somewhat at a premium as well, and a flat panel LCD display would be a tremendous benefit. In Florida our office was over 2000 square feet with plenty of space for dual 21" monitors for everyone who preferred dual monitors. We discuss Monaco color management software, X-Rite Monitor Optimizer, ColorVision Pantone Spyder, Itec ColorBlind ProveIt, ColorSavvy ColorMouse Too, GretagMacbeth EyeOne in FLAAR reports, both as part of the FLAAR course on digital photography as well as FLAAR series (on RIPs, or on color management ). Color management will increasingly be discussed on FLAAR web sites and in our reports, especially on wide-format-printers.org. All reports can be obtained on wide-format-printers.NET. |
